Croaker Sacks and Catfish Stew
With a grant from the Florida Humanities Council, Croaker Sacks and Catfish Stew is a program to explore the historic cooking habits, food preparation, and recipes that defined the family and community of rural Volusia County in the Depression-era years. We examined the food history and social aspects of mealtime in rural areas of Volusia County at a time when America was struggling in the 1930s – 1940s.
