About
Us

Cinderic Documentaries Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization established in 2005 after discovering that
much of the state's history and culture is vanishing
or being overlooked and forgotten.
The organization is dedicated to preserving history
and a record of fading places and lifestyles unique
to Florida through documentary photography, oral history,
and other narratives, including livelihoods rich in
tradition that are quickly disappearing. One key component
of our organization is education. We pay special attention
to getting young people involved with photography and
history. Our efforts in projects and educational outreach
are guided by the following goals:
1. To enrich and preserve the
community and human spirit.
2. To educate and promote an appreciation for rich cultural
heritages, traditions, and histories.
3. To demonstrate how life stories contribute to the
cultural community in which we live.
Community
Need

Each new generation redefines
life from the one that came before. The result is often
loss. Ways of life are disappearing. Cultures are vanishing.
Historic architecture is being demolished. There is
no outlet for expressing the significance of the ordinary.
Without a supply
of information and the ability to educate the value
of the common in society, many ways of life and groups
will be overlooked and forgotten or, through factors
such as development and economy, will disappear and
be lost to future generations.
In studying Florida's history,
many of the important practices and events that make
up its rich background tend to fall to the wayside.
With wars and Indian raids, and settlers cropping up
left and right it is easy to see how the practice of
the everyday citizen can be overlooked. It is important,
however, that the tales of these people, whose daily
lives left so much posterity to explore, are not lost
forever to the forgotten landmarks of Florida's past.
We accomplish this through Educational
Outreach and Documentaries.
